On October 11th The Caribbean Spirit Catamaran Will be holding the 1st annual Max B 33 Fundraiser. This will be a Fun Filled Day of Great Music, Swimming, Sailing, Snorkeling and Relaxing on the largest commercial Catamaran in North America. We will Depart Bayside Market @ 12pm Sail in through the waters and begin the festivities, returning at 4pm.

In layman’s terms Max is a African American youth with a disability who is one of the best hockey players in the nation for his age and his family can’t afford the burden of success.
All proceeds will go to benefit Maxwell Barrington a minority youth ice hockey player with Tourette’s Syndrome. He is 10 and plays against kids up to 2.5 years older than he is on the Golden Wolves AA pee wee team. He also represents the state of Florida on the 03 Alliance AAA team comprised of the top players in the state born in his birth year The funds will be used for tuition for the 2 different teams and travel to the 5 out of state tournaments he will be participating in over the next 3 months.
The fundraiser is because the family wasn’t prepared for the burden of having to travel and pay for all the extra expenses of the accomplishment. This includes new Hockey Gear, Travel, Food, Hotels, Time off Work, and all the other expenses of the sport.

Caribbean Spirit Catamaran to Hold 1st Annual MaxB 33 Fundraiser
MIAMI – OCTOBER 11th, 2013 – The Caribbean Spirit Catamaran, the largest commercial day use Catamaran in North America, located behind the Hard Rock Café at Bayside Marketplace, will be hosting its 1st Annual MaxB 33 Fundraiser on October 11, 2013. The fundraiser, which will cost $65 per guest and will set sail at 12pm until 4pm, will include admission to the cruise, a box lunch from the Hard Rock Café, two shots from Frost Shots and four free beers or wine while on the trip.
All of the proceeds will go to benefit Maxwell Barrington, a 10-year-old youth ice hockey player out of Miami with advanced Tourette’s syndrome. Maxwell plays for the Golden Wolves AA Pee-Wee team out of Pembroke Pines and also represents the state of Florida on the ’03 Alliance AAA team. The Florida Alliance team is comprised of the top players in the state born in Max’s birth year.
Since being diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes involuntary motor and vocal tics, Maxwell has found refuge in hockey and has excelled at the sport. In an effort to help pay for the tuition and travel expenses associated with the sport, Dave Halevy owner of The Caribbean Spirit has offered to host this benefit to help Maxwell take advantage of the opportunities to play the sport he loves.
Dave, owner of Spirit Catamaran Charters and Tropical Sailing said, “It’s our pleasure to be able to do this for Max, he’s been a part of our extended family and he’s a great kid. We want him to succeed and do what it takes to help him cope with his condition.”
